It was another great year for Flavors of Golden! Thanks for celebrating your community and helping us donate to local presenting organizations.

About Flavors of Golden

The event combines inspirational remarks from five local organizations, an array of food offerings , time to sit down and have a relaxed meal and conversation with folks of varying perspectives, and closing remarks by Mayor Sloan.

Objectives

  • Learn about and support five organizations that care for our community.
  • Celebrate the mosaic of residents and organizations in the Golden area and their shared commitment to the community.
  • Enable residents and groups that do not meet to learn about each other and discuss shared community values and opportunities to connect.
  • Engage in a fun and stimulating dinner that highlights the strength of our community and interconnected interests.

1. Rotating monthly column in Informer that we assist with
2. City web page on volunteer activities that we help populate
3. Create a Golden gives day
4. Work with Chamber to promote volunteer opps via businesses and Chamber outreach channels
5. Volunteer fair and/or picnic
6. Partner with Be a Tool – volunteer education during be a tool day or outreach to their networks
7. Create effective marketing and social media campaign
8. Golden United creates Golden volunteer opp clearinghouse and match-making program
9. Work with JeffCo schools on flyers to kids for youth and possibly parent participation
9. Engage in face to face communications (e.g. at existing events, Farmers Market, etc.)
10. Some form of auction or competition to create interest
11. Explore creating land-trust for folks selling homes to preserve them as affordable housing – or deed restrictions
12. Convene a discussion forum on “Critical Thinking” and to how to evaluate information sources
